Rough Around The Edges Poem by Francis Duggan

Rough Around The Edges

'Tis not his fault if he's not a nice person
His childhood years to say the least were tough
He is one who has his own share of knowledge
Though around the edges he seems a bit rough

At times he almost seems manic depressive
His moods swing from the high to very low
One might say he is rather unpredictable
The type of person hard to get to know.

His nickname you've guessed it 'rough around the edges'
He is the noisiest person in the crowd
To be heard a microphone he never does need
You will not need one as he is quite so loud.

He cannot help it for the way that he is
He did not have it easy as a boy
He lives up to his nickname as rough around the edges
And his company is not easy to enjoy.
