Roxanne, You Gave Youself A Job. Poem by Roxanne Dubarry

Roxanne, You Gave Youself A Job.

'When no one else would give you a job or hire you, Roxanne, you gave yourself one! ' My friend S. Z. told me very recently. And she was speaking the utter most truth!

What type of job was she speaking about? Certainly not one that involved financial blessings in the form of a weekly or bi-weekly paycheck? No, it came in the form of COVID-19 federal stimulus checks instead!

The job she was referring to was that of a free lance internet poetic writer on-line on various websites! Including this one of course! One of my most faithful ones involving my poetic auto-biography! Even when my former computer made using this website virtually impossible!

Neither my poetry nor this website locked me out! Unlike another website of mine has done! They claimed I was
submitting incorrect user names and passwords. Even when I told them my information was correct!

I think it was because my views were far too political for their tastes! Yet God is in His heavens and all is right with His world. Either He will restore that website for me or replace it with another one. Come to think of it one of my former poetry
web sites has recently been restore! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

It is not only selfish or ego-centered reasons or purely for self gratifications that I love to write! It is mainly because I have always wanted to make a difference out of my life's work. By leaving behind a lasting legacy! It is far more of uttermost importance than leaving behind one million dollars in my name!

Storing up rewards and riches in heaven which are permanent! Are much more important than storing them up only temporary during the remainder of my earthly life time!
When I was younger I did freely covet the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry! As a result I was as miserable as I could be when I was in my thirties!

I coveted after fame and a bunch of degrees behind my name! Neither of which would have impressed anybody other than yours truly! 'There is only one life which all too soon will pass only what is done for Christ will last! ' When the roll is called up yonder I plan of being there! 'There by the grace of God go I! '

We can neither buy or work our way into the pearly gates!
'By faith we are saved and not by works least any man (or any woman) should boast! Abraham believed God and that was accounted unto him for righteousness!

Love in Christ Jesus!

Yes, we have to work for leaving our legacy for the posterity and for a place in spiritual world but not wealth here!
