Ruby Gardens Poem by Harlequin Rose

Ruby Gardens

It was so automatic
so broken
so instant
so fleeting
in a moment that seemed
more like a ribbon of dust
a garden appeared
from a mid-morning rain
peeking thru the ages
distant and lovely
tragic and tremulous
an imagined Eden
and I, Lilith
staking all, including you,
as my claim
between the darkness and the earth
I draw you into me
coupling the way we are
among the fig trees
and the pomegranate leaves
on the horizon I see another
more beautiful than I
one who is meant to tell the story
in a tragic way
the fall of man indeed remains
woman's most glorious day.
