Ruins Poem by Atashi Ghosh

Ruins

Past speaks to the present
About its sordid recollection
Of burnt up desires
And shattered fascination.
Remnants ruminate the rupture of
Encroaching avarice.
The landscape resonates with
The clashing and brandishing subjugation.
Glimpses capture the smile of
The new in the lap of the old.
The trampled scaffold lost in the dust
Cries out its pent up misfortune.
Life mingles in lifelessness
To reveal the disrupted continuity.
