Rules Poem by Amy Toebes

Rules

We all stand alone
In a world we call our own

Yet we live our lives set by rules
Those very rules that were made by fools.

TELLING us what is right and what is wrong
If we are different we don’t belong

Not helping us be who we want to be
They will only like what they want to see

We try to fight back
They say its brains that we lack

We stand here all alone
In Our world that’s our own

Just trying to fit in
Its not a crime nor a sin.

You may have put me back in my place
But its not long till we win this race.

Rules stupid rules
And yet we follow
Even if it causes us sorrow

You still put me down, you still hurt me deep
Put my freedom of speech you shall not keep.
