Run, My Heart Poem by Liv Mealone

Run, My Heart

Barren hills of sadness and pain
Mountains of emptiness and rain
Amidst it all the sun hasn’t shone
Alas, my heart, stop your cryin'
Soon, a flow’r will bloom in the rain.

Run, my heart! No home for you here
Sing your sad song, cry your bitter tear
Gales of sorrow in this sea of error
All around you, darkness and terror... but pray,
In the night, a moon shall be born.

Mourn, oh heart! Death is at the door
End of the pain and crosses you bore
All is gone now, love’s not your own
Love lost, loneliness won.
