Runaway Tears Poem by Jennifer Colyne Hall

Runaway Tears

Wildflowers are weeping in the starlight

Starlight sparkles tumbling

Tumbling out of reach for no reason

Reason whispers across my skin

Skin chills to the howl down the trail

Trail of thoughts, past to future

Future of loved ones with misted tears

Tears fall as words never spoken

Spoken like serene clouds glide

Glides as swift but gentle

Gentle butterfly lands in the forest

Forest gladly keep our thoughts & tears

Tears cease as life resumes

Resumes feeling mapped out by the fireplace
