Rural Lad Poem by Minerva Agriam

Rural Lad

Thy curious glance
On the first day we meet;
Has left a mystery
That is for Thee.

I longed to part
To stay no more;
Thy arid place
Where the sun alight everymorn.

But I think of Thee
My thoughts aflight,
To thy arid place
It longed to take a part.

Forgive this feeble longing
To Thee has done;
Pleading that Thou
Has a heart O' kind.

Days passed and we
Meet no more,
The day we parted
Everything has bygone.
