Ruth is a very interesting and important character in Biblical history. A young widow leaves her homeland Moab to become a support for her Jewish mother-in-law, Naomi. She says to Naomi leaving for Bethlehem that 'your God is my God and your people are my people'. Prophetically and amazingly a woman of foreign lineage is considered to be the matriarch of all Jews, the same bloodline of King David (harped king) and Christ (Messiah to millions as muse) . This was one of my first attempts at serious poetry after getting inspired from a friend's poem on 'Hermione' a character from Greek mythology.
