Sacrifice The Illusions You Cherish Poem by Mohammad Younus

Sacrifice The Illusions You Cherish

Sacrifice the illusions you cherish,
Then establish prayer,
Yet stray not into asceticism.

Cease the craving for more and more;
Be indifferent to all temptations.
Abandon the habit of preference—
It is futile, for in essence,
All existence stems from the same root.

Enlightenment arises—
The fruit of authentic truth.
Turn blind to light's deceptive veils;
Unmask the deceit within your soul—
Your tainted soul, so deceitful.

Uproot every poisonous growth
Within your inner garden,
And sow the seeds of wisdom.
Become the sage who barely recognizes
The ghostly reflections of illusions.

Never succumb to emptiness,
For you are Wholeness incarnate.
The Real is your essence.
Forsake dreams to witness reality.

In the garden of existence,
Flowers bloom—all the same,
Each beautiful, each fragrant,
Proclaiming, 'Who I am, '
Revealing that all existence is One.

Let detachment transform
Into divine attachment,
Granting you the clarity
To recognize your true scent.

You are the mouthpiece
Of the Real—proclaiming:
All is One and One is All!
