Sad Prayers For Guilty Bodies Poem by Lora Cooley

Sad Prayers For Guilty Bodies

They stored their passion in the corners of their mouths
They said
"I wasn't happy. I wasn't happy were I was."
I am here to beg forgiveness for I know I tore two worlds apart
Love swept in like a storm
Love poured in like a flood
I will not be drowned
Shouting at the stars
"We both said vows and lied, I wonder how we trust ourselves to say it a second time."
