Sad (Seasonal Affective Disorder) Poem by Jay Loring

Sad (Seasonal Affective Disorder)

I felt the warmth of the sun today.
I wondered where he'd been.
I'd missed the bright and pleasant ray
and couldn't remember when

I last had seen his shining face
And felt that inner glow.
For recent days that lacked his grace,
with gray of rain and snow,

had bound my soul with such despair
that hope did almost wane.
Till nearly gone - my dream to dare
to see the sun again.

The days are growing longer now.
My soul with sunlight bathed,
rejoices new to know somehow,
I've made it through unscathed.
