Sadness All Around Poem by Aimee Brimson

Sadness All Around

There's sadness in the darkness
It's quiet at night.
Walking down the middle of the road lonely, cold and hungry
Haven't ate for days now, feeling empty inside.
Listening to domestics and not fulfilled her dreams.
Now ran away from home scared of what she might see.
Wishing it would change back to how it used to be.
She knows it won't happen but still tries to believe.
Now turning to the razor and tearing her soul apart.
Sat under a tree wondering what she has done.
Trying to cry as quiet as a mouse so on-one could hear her desperate call for help.
Now her parents are starting to worry
Not hearing from her for days.
They go out looking for her but forgets about the forest.
She sat in the middle of the road listening to the trees rustling in the breeze.
She feels all calm by listening to the nature calls.
After hours of searching they're all reunited again.
Going home like nothing has happened once again.
Her life has now changed forever.
Her sadness is still darkness.
Still turning to the razor blaming herself for what has happened.
Looking back on her scars and wishing it never happened.
