Safe Poem by Amity Willows

Safe

Fear,
Courses through you,
Making you unable to do,
What you need to do to survive,
To go and live your life.

Bravery,
Makes you do stupid things,
And leaves you wishing,
That you had stayed home,
And never chanced to go out alone.

Love,
Makes you as foolish as bravery,
Just take a look at me,
I was shielded when I was young,
And now that I’ve loved,
Look at what I have become.

Hate,
Gives you temporary strength,
Lets you love the least,
Keeps you safe from that love,
Keeps you safe and unloved.
