Safe Poem by Aimee Nell

Safe

Rating: 4.5

I lay sobbing until he appears.
Arms open and smiling down at me.
I sink into his embrace,
And feel warmth spread through me.
'Safe.'
It echoed through my head.
A mere floating voice that barely registered,
Through the torrent of happiness washing through me.
Yet I knew it was true.
At that moment of salvation,
I felt that I could go anywhere,
And it would still feel like home,
By just being in his arms.
