Saltcoats 1964. Poem by Michael Cochrane

Saltcoats 1964.

The beach was covered by the Glaswegian families, of every age all trying to catch the rays of the sun in between the showers. Ma handed out the sandwiches and tea and dad caught a break from showing us how to make sandcastles. The sea was as cold as ice and took my breath away, a summer day in Scotland! An experience not forgotten in childhood.
