Salute To Wolfgang Petersen

I can not let you pass without a formal salute
as one who pit carried my fear of that war four years
watched the monster gobble lives known up close.
'The Boat' (Das Boot) a strange film
should be required viewing
for all who think their stomachs
strong enough for war.
