Sands & Deserts Poem by Gabriel Rodriguez

Sands & Deserts

What's a lifetime for us
Eternity made for you and I
What is a heaven for us
When it lies in mutual eyes

I was lost in the wilderness
Storms would come and go
Then you came with tenderness
Spring came and melted the snow

The thaw of my heart was a process
Oh the times you would fight
To warm my spirit and come to harness
My heart out of his after life

Oh I'm not the same man
You changed all of that
No longer just a man
You turned me into sand

Sands to be shared in the same glass
Sands that go on till the end of forever
Sands that flow in the air and dance
Sands that fall as one along with the other

We are the desert
We cover the whole of Earth
We are untethered
We are pieces of Gods worth

Oh what's a lifetime
When I hold heaven in my arms?
Oh what's a lifetime
When I kiss heaven in my arms?
Oh what's a lifetime
When I make love to heaven in my arms?

What's a lifetime,
What's a lifetime?
