Santa Poem by prabhakar bhatlekar

Santa

Rating: 5.0

In dead cold of ice
numbly looking ahead
I floundered to nowhere!
Horizon vanished in the sky
and like a foggy balloon
it was all over till
beneath my feet.
Suddenly a sleigh pulled
by reindeers at my side.
Too tired to feel amazed
I looked up.
Dazzling Red suit and
a chubby face hidden in
flowing White beard.
He smiled and waved me to
sit next to him. I Followed.
'Thank you...you..'
'Am Santa- -Haaaaa! ! !
Startled for a moment
I quickly realised the
'Haaaa-' was for reindeers.
We zoomed ahead in the foggy
balloon, like in the air...
Now I was feeling warm
and sleepy. He said
'You look tired! '
I nodded and closed my eyes.
'I need strength-'
I muttered.
'-I can offer only dreams'
He said. '-and you'll
have to find out strength
through them'
I looked at his smiling face
' Don't allow yourself to
tangle in reality...
you need dreams'
'- But my folks won't agree! '
'Haaaa- '
again it was for reindeers.
'-Look, now we're together
talking to each-other
is't this a lovely dream?
Even to them, your dreams
will offer strength, be sure,
haaaa....! ! ! '
