Sapida Poem by Victoria Gauci

Sapida

When I think of you,
A smile comes to my face,
As quick as the wind,
Or a warm embrace,

I don't have to blink,
And your smile is there,
Like trusted sunshine,
Or sweet summer air,

You're like rivers that run,
Truest and strong,
You've helped me to conquer,
When things have gone wrong,

You have held my hand,
And wiped my tears,
You've helped me to cleanse,
All of my fears,

God is so kind,
To give me two mothers,
I'm blessed to have you,
And not some other,

For I know that your wisdoms,
And all your life lessons,
Have helped me to grow,
As my journey progresses,

Sometimes when I stagger,
Going through my day,
I know that you're only,
A phone call away,

You are part of my heart,
Attached to my soul,
If it wasn't for you,
I wouldn't be whole,

Your love has nurtured,
Your strength became mine,
You've helped me to stand up,
And walk a straight line,

Words can't express,
What I truly feel,
I love you so deeply,
It's almost surreal,

I thank you for all,
That you've given to me,
I carry it proudly,
For all eternity,

God gave me two mothers,
And you are the other,

A woman I admire,
For her passion and fire.
