Sassie Poem by Leslie Leon

Sassie

Rating: 5.0

I saw her laying on the emerald green carpet. She stared at me with her beautiful brown eyes, reflecting the sun's bright rays. Her fur the color of an autum leaf orange. She gently licked her furry paws with her raspy pink tongue. She lifted her head with a swift movement as I carefully stepped toward her. I picked her up and softly kissed her moist, pink nose. Then I quietly whispered ' I love you ', Then looked out through the window and gazed up at the light blue sky to admire the mysteriously unusual cloud that seemed to take the shape of my cat, Sassie. Then she flickered her broad white whiskers and licked my nose with her rough, yet gentle, tongue. Then I wiped off the wetness and kissed her forehead and told her ' I'll always be there for you if you're there for me.' Then she smoothly turned away as I set her on the hardwood floor and then she walked away, disappearing into the hallway. -Leslie Leon
