December days are on the wane.
2020 now sails on a sinking boat
that goes down slowly,
descending inexorably
into the bottomless ocean
of foggy time.
Yet, initially,
the outgoing year of 2020
carried on its shoulders
a pale promise, an offering
of a good, or even superb year,
if not for other reason
then at least on account of being
associated with faultlessness,
since the number 2020 in optometry
stands for perfect vision (20/20) .
Unfortunately, however, reality
does not feel obliged
to comply with our hopes.
And so, instead of living up
to our rosy expectations,
2020 ushered in a plaguing scourge,
the nightmarish pandemic
of the corona virus Covid-19.
Still, as we say farewell
to the outgoing gloomy year,
let's be optimistic
regarding the future.
So, let's replace our dark glasses
with brighter colors,
let's forget for now the hardships,
all the difficult trial and strife,
and in spite of all the adversities,
celebrate the beauty of life.
Interestingly enough,
the new calendar year of 2021
is a composite number.
Furthermore, in numerology,
it is considered to be
an "angel number",
which represents faith and harmony,
energy, positive vibrations
and happiness.
Also, by way of dialectics,
the new year of 2021
might by evolving under the influence
of benevolent forces, lucky stars
applying fortunate rules
in cosmic dynamics affecting us.
So let's hope that 2021
will be indeed a happy year,
a joyous year of good health
a blissful year of love,
of peace and prosperity.
