Scary, Eh?

Things thrust your way, one after the other
You're not ready but you have to cope
Sometimes it's weird
When you're ready for some things
They don't come along until you get tired waiting
Then things you're not prepared of come tumbling down.
This is an opportunity others may have appreciated greatly
I'm thankful for this chance, with all my heart, really
Doesn't happen everyday that I meet people from different places
To talk about the recent trends in mathematics.
Yet I'd rather prefer my secluded and protected life
Where things are simple and predictable
Where familiar surroundings are about me.
Today, I'm scared out of my wits!
Nonetheless, frightening things bring a tinge of excitement, so to speak
Though, it's haunting me...
