Scent Poem by Kadagouda Patil

Scent

Standing on
a mountain, I gaze
blue sky spread all over.
I seem a tiny twig.

I try to touch sky,
I feel the breeze,
rain drops falling,
I am soaked in nature.

Squirrel jumps on my shoes,
dragonflies dancing in wind,
butterflies on my shoulder,
slopes covered in flowers.

As natural, are your eyes.
I saw depths of ocean in them.
As natural, is your smile,
I saw sparkle of a diamond.

As I first met you,
your pony-tail spreads in wind
covers all the sky.
I carried your scent to bed.

Closing my eyes, I touch the scent.
It dissolves in my heart.
Scent, ran in my veins.
I too smelt same fragrance.

Your scent is fragrance surrounds me.
As I kissed your lips,
you held me in tight hug.
The scent has tied us together.

As we sat on the mountain,
I captured your beauty
in my eyes. I drank
smoothness of your skin.

It is the scent, holding us together.
I got soaked in your love.
Dragonflies perched on us.
Our love is natural.

Friend's laughed and said,
I smelt same as you.
As we shared destiny,
on the mountain we meet again,

in the darkness of cave,
where your scent resides.
