School And Christianity Poem by Rita Hawkins

School And Christianity

Often Christian children must go to church and school,
What parents do not understand is that the schools make fools.
Yes, I know they are going to get smart,
But science teaches that what Christians believe is not honest.

We then expect the children to be modest,
but think about it, they tell them we came from monkeys,
and there is several goddess,
This makes no sense to them, and it did not to us.

Yes, I know school is a must,
but, before sending the youngsters their ways,
Make sure you tell them not to listen to these people over church,
So when they get older they know where to search for the truth.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM
Serenity Prayer 26 December 2008

i went to christian schools until 7th grade....my sister got pregnant and the christian school threw her out, so i had to move to a public school. even though somethings they tell us in a public school may not be true, i still like it 100x times more than the last christian school i went too. a public school is not revolved around Christ, but to be perfectly honest neither is a christian school. if christian schools were like Christ and stuff then theyd accept my sister and help her, but instead they abandoned her....the sad part is.....so did everyone else. my faith was tested because of them, but it only made me stronger....at least for alittle while.
