Schrodinger's Cow Poem by Barbara James

Schrodinger's Cow

Rating: 5.0

Not by chance
I happened upon the cow
alone again in the empty field.
Walking at dusk on the road
from town to home,
I knew that if I turned off
a certain way
that I would find her
standing where she always stood
between grass and sky.
And I would see her
and she would see me.

This is very funny. The idea is sublime and very original. The great thing about it is how you have changed the whole character of the poem by using the title. If you had a title, say 'The wandering Cow' the poem would be pleasant enough but without any depth. As it is this is a very inteligent piece.
