Sea Side Poem by Pallavi Lumba

Sea Side

The first ray of sunshine
The birds are chirping
Football is being played by children.
Can you hear the sounds of laughter?
The one that echoes through,
A mild breeze blowing?

Rain droplets and then,
the scent of damp mud.
The sound of the waves,
crashing on the rocks,
gladdens the heart.

Sandcastles are being built on sand.
There are footprints too.
At a distance, the seagull rests.

On a gloomy night, the moonlight reflects in the sea.
On a hot day, the sun's rays reflect in the water.
Feelings that get lost somewhere
are soothed to the spirit and heart.

The seaside has many stories to tell.
Stop. Pause. Breathe.
If we care enough to listen.
