Searching For Something Poem by RACHEL ZARANTONELLO

Searching For Something

I'm searching for something
I cannot reach
So many lessons on heartbreak
I should just teach
But how do you help someone
when you are failing everyday?
No matter my choices-
they still go on their way
Even on a good day
odds are never in my view
I'm so used to loss
A fact I wish were not so true
I'm homesick for a man who wanders.
I know he will never stay
I'm just happy for the time
I have with him until he's on his way
I know I'm in his thoughts every day
I will see him at least one more time
I know he will never stay
and someday with that I'll have to be fine.
