Someone To Laugh With Poem by RACHEL ZARANTONELLO

Someone To Laugh With

Rating: 5.0

Never asking for anything
Simply waiting for your time
I'll be better off without you
You'll see. I will be fine.
You were that one guy I was drawn to,
My soul wanted to keep.
Always making me laugh,
and you could hold me in my sleep
What am I holding onto?
Something real or just hope?
That this time you'll treat me better
Knowing you really won't.
How many different chances
Will I give you day after day?
Only to let you hurt me
In exactly the same way.
Nothing but a good time
Is what I intended for us to be
Someone to laugh with and
who longed to be with me.
Watching you go now,
leaves my heart in pain.
An emptiness without you
My mind cannot explain.

Thank you for your kind words. The best poetry often comes from a broken heart.
