Seashells Poem by Francesco Malaspina

Seashells

Rating: 5.0

Obey me!
My body hides
Lies among lies
The voiding tides erasing
Me
Devoid of shades, enraptured
As wary words leave guilty lips
Obey me!
Will ever I?

Eroding inches from thoughtless shorelines
The ocean preys on lands forgotten
Oblivion lights shine among the swirls
And I know it won't listen to me here
So hear me
Am I empty enough to resonate with the churning waves
Like the old seashells do?
All cracked and encrusted and yet so loud
Bearing memories that aren't theirs.

Though silent
I am cracked too
Somewhere
Emotions are leaking through
But still my body hides
And I do yet obey
And nobody will know
And I'll be fine
And I'll be fine
Will ever I?

Playing with the muse of nature to talk about your lifestyle. Nice work.
