! ! ! ! Seasons Of Life- Haibun! ! ! !

Rating: 2.2

I gather dry leaves,
Autumnal hues still alive;
Fresh flowers fade, wilt.

Poppies dance in breeze,
Bright red nodding their head,
On crowded pathway.

Hot winds are blowing,
Stay indoors, sip lemon tea;
Await evening breeze.

Pomegranate-
Arils the shade of garnets,
Jewels, on my plate.

Sun is westward bound,
I gaze from a rock on beach…
Silence, despite crowd.

Slowly, darkness creeps,
Water reflects temple lights
On the banks of Ganges.

Bones ache, lie awake;
Oh, grandfather clock strikes twelve.
Someone snores, next door.

A storm is raging,
Not alone in my misery;
I have some company.

Have a fitful sleep,
Someone nudges my elbow-
Morning smiles, tip toe…

Sun’s rays light up room
Slowly lifts weariness, gloom
Snug, pull up my quilt.
