Second Chance Poem by SEGUN RASAKI

Second Chance

Rating: 5.0

Who needs you,
why do they call you second,
What is your chance,
When I fail to meet the expectations,
I mean those high standards,
I will call on you,
begging for you to come to my rescue.

When my teachers give grades,
Those grades that I cannot take home,
I shall yell for you,
to come and live in the hearts of my teachers,
Begging for them to give you to me.

When things go wrong in my life,
When relationships go bad,
I will ask of you to come.

When I fail to meet up,
with life's challenges,
I will take consollation in you.

I promise not to make excuses,
No excuses for my shortcomings.
All I am asking for is you,
My friend second chance.

Nice poem with images polished to reality. I just wrote a poem titled 'the second chance' a bit similar to yours, you can view it and comment at your leisure

Original writing full of images that are clearly delivering a strong and notable message. I think there could be a few changes in dialogue that might strengthen this even more. I tiny bit of overwriting perhaps but then just my opinion. I like the way you've brought this to its closing. Everyone at one time or another wishes for that 'second chance'.... Light.
