I love this poem and I am doing a speech on second hand smoke for my college Public Speaking class. I was wondering if I could read it to the class as part of my speech? That would be great its perfect! Thank you!
Thanks Joe for reading my poem. Habits are hard to break. I was never a smoker but I was addicted to shopping. It seems the things we love are usually the things that are bad for us. Hopefully, one of these days you'll be able to quit for good.
Thank you Kyla for the compliment. I am glad you liked it. I have a friend who's mother smokes. After my friend listened to my poem she asked if I would give her a copy. She hung it on the refrigerator hoping it would help her mother quit. Unfortunately, it didn't. Those addictions are hard to break. It takes a lot of willpower and self control. People are capable but it takes a lot of work. I'll keep my fingers crossed that eventually your dad will quit.
I never really smoked my whole life. On and off more. But in latter age, I enjoy the lift. I puff from a corn cob pipe. Maybe 1-4 a day. But, I'll quit and smoke again. BUT, a pack or two a day - your right it's a killer.
So true my dad smokes and you know I wish he would quit I hate the smell hes not allowed to smoke in the car or house but you know it just doesnt work I still inhale second hand smoke and its nasty people should really pay attention to your poem its amazing
Hi Romina Grieco: Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. I was in the hospital when you sent this. Did you already complete your speech on second hand smoke? If you haven't you can definitely use my poem. Let me know how your speech goes. Take care, Sherri
