Secret - Poem by Bailey Logan

The light is brighter than the sun
Nothing I've seen before
I could never imagine
a place such as this

above the streets and sounds
above the trees and the sights
above the clouds
where there's nobody but me
and Him,
the one walking toward me

I suddenly realize why I'm here
but I do not panic
for this figure ascending toward me
is comforting and smooth

I suddenly realize
why I never felt this way before
why it has never been described
tried to be forced into words
acted like Shakespeare
sung like a bird

He tells me the truth
without speaking a word,
nobody here
can ever go back
they can never tell
what they've seen
or how they've felt,
because it's a secret
a secret forever theirs to keep
