Secrets Of Dreams Poem by Rhonda Middleton

Secrets Of Dreams

You whispered in my ear last night
I laid still and listened in the moon light
Your secret revealed only to me it seems
Not even you, know what you dreamed

Wrapping your arms around me during your slumber
Left me comforted, but still I wondered
Was I the subject of your stutter?
Or was I intruding on your fantasy of another

In the quiet dawn, I awoke
Laid silently and watched the shadows of the oak
I listened to the frogs and their familiar croak
And gently gave your cheek a stroke

You stirred and pulled me close
Held me tight before you rose
Soon, reality left me as I began to doze
Into the world of dreams only my subconscious knows
