See It Dead - Poem by Adebayo Tajudeen

Serve your heart with the
Poison of avarice
See it dead of contentment
Serve your mind with
Repugnant milk of envy
See it dead of compassion.

Feast your soul on materialism
See it dead of satisfaction
Feed your body with immorality
See it dead of modesty.

Feed your ears with grape-vines
See it susceptible to suspicion
Feed your eyes with lewd
Watch it dry of mercy
Wet your tongue with lies
See dry of integrity.

Feed your character with hypocrisy
See it devoid of trust
Cultivate attitude of greed
See it grow vanity.
