Seeing Me Poem by Gina Okafor

Seeing Me

Rating: 4.0

Is it true that I allow you
To do what you do by always forgiving
Is it true that by turning a blind eye
You think I can't see
You think I'm dumb
For trying to have security.

Is it true that that you plan to leave
Even though it should be me trying to run?
Is it fair to hate and love you?
Is it fair to put you in front of the mirror
So I won't see me?

Is it true that all my insecurities
Have made my worst enemy my securer?
So which is it
You or I that should run,
That have been cheated,
That are not really seeing what is left to be seen
