Seeking Truth Poem by Shelley Jones

Seeking Truth

It now seems so long ago
That your eyes held mine.
Even If only for an instant

It kept my dream alive -
That it was real for you too.

Being in love with you
Was all that mattered.

As I stood on the edge
Of the cliff without a rope,
Logic told me pull back,

Created doubt that you were indeed
Writing back to me,
So consumed I had been.

And now a storm in Eden -
Sorrow as punishment,

I walk back to seek salvation
In the arms of compassion,
To rescue truth.
