Self Important Poem by June FeirCruz

Self Important

You try to act deep, you are not
You try to be cool, you are not.
You act confident, but you are ignorant
You act tough, but you are a coward.

You have an explanation for everything
Even when it doesn't make any sense.
Why do I expect so much from you
You are a nobody trying to be somebody.

How can I begrudge you
For wanting to reach the stars
It is I who taught you it was possible
When I gave you a taste of the pearl.

So, if you think you are deserving
I only have myself to blame.

*circa 2008*
