An Open Book Poem by June FeirCruz

An Open Book

Rating: 5.0

I have always been an open book to you
I allowed you to read me so that you may know me.
I dedicated each chapter of my life for your mind and heart
I gave you footnotes for every detail of my life.

The landscapes of my heart and mind were gifts that I had freely given
I had hoped that you would learn something precious from me.
Instead you read the book of June as though it is in Latin
Reading the words, but clearly not comprehending.

It's a shame, June, but we men can be dense sometimes. We may see a pretty gal walk by on the street and fall head over heels for her, while the girl next door has a crush on you is thought of as a friend only! It happned to me once, where a girl left plenty of clues for me to see if I had my eyes open, but it wasn't until she told me how she felt about me that I woke up! Your fine poem suggests much the same thing. Sometimes you just have to hit a guy over the head with something to get his attention! Though your charming write doesn't say it, it appears that's what's need in this case! Carl.
