Self Portrait: Catching A Glimpse Of Myself In A Reflection Poem by Bryan Corbett

Self Portrait: Catching A Glimpse Of Myself In A Reflection

Rating: 5.0

i used to be so embarrassed
when my dad
would take me to the grocery store

his plaid shorts
tattered tee-shirt
aviator sunglasses
white socks
in flip flops

this afternoon
i took my son to the grocery store
and caught a glimpse
of myself in the reflection
of the glass door
just before it opened
automatically

and i smiled
i get it now,
dad
