Self-Condemnation Poem by Tor Magnor Solvang

Self-Condemnation

A careless word, a hurried deed,
That scratched a soul, a tiny seed.
The other barely felt the sting,
A passing cloud, a little thing.

But in my heart, a heavy stone,
A guilt that I must bear alone.
The phantom pain, a silent cry,
I made myself begin to die.

The ripple small, the wound unseen,
Can carve a landscape, sharp and mean.
The hurt I caused, a whispered lie,
Now echoes in my own sad sky.
