Self-Inflicted Poem by Lehlohonolo Selai

Self-Inflicted

Today is cold
Above my thoughts
The willows lie still
Frozen by my shadow
Very cold and narrow
Very stern and stiff

Great pain I have chewed
Unintentional but deserved
Self-inflicted and very raw
Self-centred and visionless
Cold, too cold to co-exist
Too cold to even persist
