Semblance

Invariably I look in the mirror
to see that stranger.
Now, he has lost interest in me.
Am aware of that and don't bother
but can't stop glancing.
He would often offer me truth,
directions and soothing warmth.
Now we look at each-other
without blinking, trying
to fathom each other.
Then one day I decided to
break the ice!
Vehemently I began talking
about our past escapades
and..went on talking.
He looked at me with compassion
which I didn't like.
It was just a non friendly act.
Well I sensed, he was
no more close to me.
It was end of something
that can not be expressed.
I felt lonely and dejected.
I covered my face to weep.
The dark sorrow was coiling
around making me feel lost.
After long tiring moments
I got up to leave and
invariably in the mirror.
He was gone...
