Semi-Sweet Dame Poem by Jane Owe

Semi-Sweet Dame

When your numb to her touch and your mind starts to stray
The words you speak are meaningless, mere placeholders to fill the silence
Long days and nights, lonely yet not alone
You sit with her though your not there
You’re upstairs in your head, dancing with your thoughts and imagination
Cracking a smile you hide, for no questions could ever be answered
You push through each day, to show up for the next
Waiting for the pain, to show you reality
Oh that semi-sweet dame … Replaceable yet not replaced
