Sense And Sensation Poem by Binu Mathew

Sense And Sensation

Rating: 5.0

If man's mortal and life's uncertain, why to amass wealth,
In disproportions, for distant descendants to be prodigal,
And build multi-storied mansions, when millions live in filth,
With no space to put their corporeal frame for desires, conjugal!

If God's love and everything's His Creation, why be arrogant
And rude to some and not live in peace and brotherhood!
If God desires mercy not sacrifice, why to be extravagant,
With idols and rituals when thousands starve in neighborhood!

If faith's trust in God and entails deep compassion and endless,
Care for the entire mankind, why some hate others and practice,
Communalism, a strong sensation; insane, deep and reckless,
That emanates from the infernal region of mind, full of malice,

Where intellectuals follow fools and scientists vacate,
For palm readers, astrologers and psychics to explicate!
