Serenity Shattered Pt.1 Poem by Brett White

Serenity Shattered Pt.1

Lives have been taken, families shattered,
And once serene locales, bruised and battered.
Violence isn't righteous, no matter the cause,
The taking of Life is not in God's Laws.
Religious or not, mankind is equal,
We were borne of dust, and if a sequel
Awaits us after life is done, just know,
The pain we reap, will be ours next to sow.
Diversity is beautiful and life shows,
Radiant synergy when humanity flows.
Tolerance of all should be each one's goal,
Judging no man, condemning not a soul.
For God gave no man power over life,
And thinking this so, brings darkest strife.
So what we must do, we must begin now,
And comfort lives' lost, some way or somehow.
Let the grieving know, the world truly cares,
Society is with them, sustains them through prayers.
But if hatred you feel, and must express,
Know the world does not gain, when love becomes less.
