Shades Of A Blue Heart Poem by Kaylee Craig

Shades Of A Blue Heart

Suddenly it was blue
Blue like the ocean
Deep and mysterious
Not blue like your eyes though
Or a blue jay's feathers
No, it wasn't the kind of blue
You could save in your heart
Without freezing to death

It was a blue that was menacing
A blue that called me
In the middle of
A stormy night calling itself melancholy

That was all you could do
Is make a love once red
Turn so blue
Unable to ever go back
And trust another again.
