Open Your Eyes Poem by Kaylee Craig

Open Your Eyes

A moment repeated over and over
Called deja vu when it isn't really happening
Right in front of you

But it happened somewhere
At some time when you changed
Into someone else
Or something else.

You continue to see it,
But it is no longer there

Your heart tells you otherwise
And your mind taunts you
Hoping that you will take the bait.

Sometimes the bait cannot be
Sometimes the see-er cannot see
Because to see is to dream up a life
That could be all you ever wanted.

Then reality closes your eyes
And you're left with a moment.
