Shadows © Poem by Roann Mendriq

Shadows ©

Dark shadows creeping in the night,
sulking in the corners bleak;
Soaking up the pale moonlight,
cloaked in drama, deep mystique.

Shadows twirling on my ceiling,
tantalising fears away;
Bring a sublime form of healing,
chasing dreams into the day.

Morning sunshine's sparkling rays,
dazzles and shuts out the dark;
Lights up the world till it's ablaze,
shadows grow from every spark.

Quiet shadows, dark as night,
Silent guardians of the light.
